Our largest room is divided into 2 areas: Rainbow and Pot of Gold. The children rising 3 months, and 4year olds are accommodated in the Rainbow Room.
We can accommodate 48 children in this wonderful large room where we have areas to create cosy corners, book corner, construction space and investigation areas to name but a few. We follow the Foundation Stage Curriculum for birth to five, which is based around Four Themes: A unique Child, Positive Relationships, Enabling Environments, Learning and Developments.

However, we also recognise the need for ‘time out', peace and quiet, and fun and cuddles.

Here the children learn through play, carefully following the six Early Learning Goals:

• Maths.
• Communication, language and literacy.
• Knowledge and understanding of the world.
• Creative development.
• Physical development.
• Personal and social development.

Activities are carefully planned to ensure that a fully balanced high quality curriculum is provided. Staff within the Rainbow Room are aware of the importance of preparing the children to go onto full time education and support and guide the children as necessary.

Activities are always planned for outdoors as well as indoors. In the Rainbow Room the children have lots of opportunities to experiment and choose for themselves from the wide variety of equipment available to them. This runs alongside ‘Topics’, which can vary from Ourselves, Chinese New Year to Transport and the Seaside – all fun and all interesting. The children’s independence skills and self-esteem are continually promoted and their own ideas and thoughts are always taken into consideration… It is their nursery after all!
